LG’s latest Gram laptops are predictably stuffed with AI features

LG

LG has unveiled its latest additions to the gram series of laptops in an early CES 2024 reveal. The lineup includes two new LG Gram Pro laptops and standard updates to the existing gram series.

The LG Gram Pro laptops come equipped with impressive specifications, featuring an Intel Core Ultra processor and a GeForce RTX 3050 GPU. Additionally, these computers are integrated with Intel’s AI Boost technology, enabling them to handle AI workloads even without a network connection.

The AI capabilities extend to LG’s proprietary Link app, which now autonomously shares files and photos between devices. Notably, the Gram Pro introduces a dual-fan cooling system, a first for gram laptops, addressing the power-hungry nature of AI tools and effectively managing excess heat. The available options include 16-inch and 17-inch models.

The LG Gram Pro 2-in-1 presents comparable specifications to the standard Pro model, featuring a convertible design and a uniform 16-inch OLED display. Notable features include a touchscreen, a 360-degree adjustable hinge, and a sleek “super-slim bezel design.” Weighing in at approximately three pounds, it incorporates Intel’s AI Boost technology and the LG Link app, earning the noteworthy distinction of holding the Guinness World Record for the “lightest 16-inch 2-in-1 laptop.” The trend of increasingly specific records is certainly notable.

Simultaneously, the standard LG Gram lineup undergoes a significant update, introducing refreshed versions of the Gram 17, 16, 15, and 14 models. Each model is equipped with Intel Core Ultra processors and IPS panels with anti-glare coating. The Gram 17 and 16 models feature WQXGA resolution displays, while the smaller SKUs offer FHD or WUXGA resolution displays. Tailored for routine business and educational usage, these laptops incorporate FHD webcams and a range of user-friendly software. Additionally, they proudly feature the same Mirametrix privacy technology found in preceding generations.

If you happen to be in Las Vegas two weeks from now, you’ll have the opportunity to view these laptops firsthand, as LG is showcasing them as part of their presence at CES 2024. While the company hasn’t disclosed pricing or availability details, they have confirmed that these models will make their way to store shelves at some point in 2024.
