Apple has just officially announced an upcoming streaming event set for October 30th, and here’s the twist – it’s scheduled for 8 PM ET, well within the spooky vibes of the season. The event carries the tagline “Scary Fast,” strongly hinting at potential hardware revelations. With the recent grand iPhone 15 event behind us, the spotlight now turns to Apple’s desktop and laptop offerings.

Notably, it’s been quite some time since a new iMac graced the Apple lineup. Well-regarded analyst Mark Gurman has indicated that this event might mark the revival of the aging iMac series, and Gurman’s Apple-related predictions have often proven accurate. Additionally, there are hints of an impending update to the MacBook Pro, making this event one to watch for Apple enthusiasts.

This analysis draws from the current state of retail inventory and shipping timelines for upcoming models. Retail outlets have reported limited supplies of the existing iMacs and the 13-inch MacBook Pro. The vibrant 24-inch M1 iMac made its debut way back in April 2021, which feels like eons in the rapidly evolving tech world and has yet to receive an update. On the other hand, the MacBook Pro M2, introduced in 2022, is also eagerly anticipated to receive an upgrade.

In addition to these expectations, there have been rumors circulating that the event may unveil the successor chip, the M3. Furthermore, an iPad announcement could be on the horizon, given that Apple’s flagship tablet is also in need of a refresh.

Traditionally, Apple has reserved its October press events for computer-related announcements, further fueling the speculation of a new iMac release. Fortunately, the wait won’t be too long, as October 30 is just around the corner. Perhaps we’ll even see Tim Cook donning a mummy or Barbenheimer costume for some Halloween-themed fun.
