Prime Perks Expand: Discounted One Medical Membership Joins the Roster

Amazon

Amazon Prime members can now enjoy a significant discount on One Medical membership, gaining access to primary care services at just $99 annually or $9 per month. This marks a substantial reduction from the regular $199 yearly fee. Additionally, Prime members signing up for One Medical can extend the benefit to up to five others at an extra cost of $6 per person.

The acquisition of One Medical by Amazon was declared in 2022 and finalized with a $3.9 billion deal in February. Initially, Prime members were offered a temporary discount, pricing One Medical membership at $144 per year, but this has been further reduced. Prime members can leverage One Medical’s network of doctor’s offices in major US cities, providing comprehensive health services, including annual check-ups, chronic condition management, and same-day sick visits. One Medical extends its offerings to round-the-clock virtual care and drop-in lab services. However, it’s important to note that the membership doesn’t cover visit costs, requiring patients to either bill through insurance or pay out of pocket.

Amazon’s foray into healthcare has been expansive, encompassing prescription services and the introduction of its video and text-based virtual clinic as part of Prime benefits. The Amazon Clinic, available nationwide since the summer, now includes generic prescriptions at a mere $5 per month through its RxPass initiative. Furthermore, Amazon has initiated drone deliveries for prescriptions in College Station, Texas.
