Samsung Blinds the Competition: Unveiling 3 Glare-Defying Odyssey OLED Monitors

Samsung’s forthcoming Odyssey gaming monitors, unveiled just ahead of CES 2024, showcase a trio of OLED displays featuring AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400. These monitors are equipped with Samsung’s proprietary anti-glare technology, designed to minimize reflections from daylight and ambient light.

The first in the lineup is the 49-inch Samsung Odyssey OLED G95SD curved ultra-wide monitor. This display offers a DQHD (5120×1440) resolution, a rapid 0.03ms response time, a high 240Hz refresh rate, a 32:9 aspect ratio, and access to Samsung’s smart TV platform and cloud-based Gaming Hub. The monitor is characterized by a slim form factor, and it is slightly smaller than the massive Odyssey Ark.

It’s likely that the other two monitors in the lineup will have their own unique features and specifications. These OLED displays with advanced gaming features indicate Samsung’s commitment to providing high-quality options for gamers seeking immersive and responsive visual experiences. Further details about the other monitors in the lineup are likely to be revealed at CES 2024.

The Odyssey G80SD adds to Samsung’s gaming monitor lineup as the first flat 32-inch OLED gaming monitor. Key features of this monitor include:

Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Response Time: 0.03ms
Refresh Rate: 240Hz
Design: Ultra-thin with a width of just under four millimeters, catering to cramped desks

Ambient Lighting: Equipped with CoreLighting+ technology for unique ambient lighting schemes

This monitor is designed to provide a high-resolution and responsive gaming experience, particularly for those with limited desk space. The inclusion of OLED technology and advanced gaming features suggests a focus on delivering vibrant visuals and smooth gameplay. The CoreLighting+ technology enhances the overall aesthetic with customizable ambient lighting schemes. It’s likely to appeal to gamers who prioritize both performance and design in their gaming setups.

The compact 27-inch OLED G60SD showcases an impressive 360Hz refresh rate along with a QHD (2560×1440) resolution. Featuring Samsung’s CoreLighting+ technology for ambient lighting effects, this monitor is housed in a sleek metal form factor. Users can customize their viewing experience for comfort through tilt, pivot, and swivel adjustments.

As of now, pricing details are unavailable, but they may be revealed during CES 2024, scheduled to commence next week. Samsung has assured that these monitors will be released sometime this year. In the previous CES (2023), the company unveiled a range of Odyssey gaming monitors, all of which were available in the market by the middle of the year.
